Joann Hampar has practiced astrology professionally for more than 19 years and holds Certifications in electional and horary astrology. She is also proficient in natal astrology and relocation techniques. She attended the American School of Astrology in Manhattan, and is a member of the American Federation of Astrologers and National Council for Geocosmic Research.   

Joann began her career as a staff writer for American Astrology magazine and many of her articles have been published in Dell Horoscope, American Astrology, AFA's Today's Astrologer, The Mountain Astrologer and Llewellyn New Worlds of Mind and Spirit. Her book Electional Astrology: The Art of Timing  describes a practical approach to electional astrology. Her most recent release Astrology for Beginners: a simple way to read your chart shows that interpreting your birth chart is actually easy.

Joann is a proponent of astrology as a means to self-awareness: "astrology confirms that each of us comes into this world with a specific agenda.
